The above picture demonstrates three quite different rods, similar only in that they are all 9 ‘ 8 weight rods (by factory designation) loaded by the same 300 grains of line, leader, and fly and powered by as equal am arm force as I can achieve. That arm Force is a very familiar, to me, a repetitive and near maximum I use hundreds of times in a day of blind casting for distance.
Further, I can demonstrate that the overall flexion states in this dynamic picture are mirrored by the same rods flexed by an single weight.
