A smattering of Hardy mid-market, cast aluminum reels with nickel silver line guards. Many of this genre reels were made for american companies selling to the american market such as Scientific Anglers. Many of them were, however, fragile when matched to synthetic rods. Note the line guard...made of Nickel Silver. When it is square-cornered, it is made to be replaced (when scored or worn through). In the Princess (Fig. 20) it is round, and less easily replaced if needed.
