It is early spring in the middle Kingdom, er..middle Gorge. Snow is still on the hills of the Gorge-split Cascade range. The summer westerlies have not commenced or no one would dare the middle of the river. The winter steelhead runs are over, and the spring chinook runs are two months in the future The Bonneville pool is still open for keeper sturgeon, and the fleet is out
